🐳 Bitcoin wallet wakes up after 14 years, moves 80,000 BTC LINK
  • A whale moved 80,000 BTC worth $8.6 billion that had been sitting untouched for 14 years, transferring the entire amount to new crypto addresses on Friday.
  • Originating from 2011 "coinbase" transactions, this event is the largest daily movement of coins aged ten years or more in the history of the Bitcoin network.
  • The entity, believed to be an "OG miner," once held 200,000 BTC and ranks among the top five largest holders in the cryptocurrency's entire history.
🐾 Ready-to-use stem cell therapy for pets is coming LINK
  • San Diego startup Gallant raised $18 million for the first ready-to-use stem cell therapy for pets, which could receive FDA approval for treating animal companions.
  • The company's initial focus is a painful cat mouth condition called Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis, with a regulatory decision for the product expected by early 2026.
  • This approach uses cells from donor animals, even across species, bypassing the current need to harvest them directly from the patient needing care.
💰 Hackers stole $140 million from six Brazilian banks LINK
  • Criminals stole $140 million from six banks after paying an IT operator just $2,700 for his corporate credentials to access the financial network.
  • Attackers impersonated the institutions and used Brazil’s Pix platform to drain reserve accounts, leaving individual customer deposits untouched during the three-hour operation.
  • The stolen reais were immediately converted into Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether through cryptocurrency exchanges, with authorities now attempting to trace and freeze the assets.
⚖️ Google is facing an EU antitrust complaint over its AI summaries feature LINK
  • Independent publishers filed an EU antitrust complaint saying Google's AI Overviews misuse web content, causing them a loss in traffic, readership, and revenue.
  • The filing states that publishers cannot opt out of their material being used for AI Overviews without also being removed from general search results.
  • This complaint also requests an interim measure from the European Union to prevent further competitive harm while ensuring access to news is not lost.
🥩 Robot cooks steak from 1,800km away using VR LINK
  • A humanoid robot from Shenzhen Dobot successfully cooked a steak while being remotely controlled from 1,800km away by an operator wearing a VR headset.
  • The Dobot Atom model replicated an engineer's hand gestures, which were captured by the system as he monitored the distant counter through a video feed.
  • It completed several delicate tasks, including dabbing the meat with a paper towel, pouring oil into the pan, and sprinkling salt directly from its fingers.
